MUNICIPAL COUNCIL
In Quebec, the municipal council is formed of councillors and a mayor, all elected members by public vote. The role of the mayor is to manage the municipality throughout its mandate and to chair the different sessions of the council. The role of the councillors is rather to manage various files appointed to them in the course of their mandate (environment, public buildings, etc)
A municipal council
must hold a public meeting at the beginning of every month, to assure its citizens a full
right for the information and transparency. In Dudswell, they meet on the first Monday of
the month at 7 pm. In the agenda foreseen the public point, where every citizen can come
to express himself with public-spiritedness.
